Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of human resources experience including project management and supporting cross functional teams.
Job Summary
Designs, standardizes, and executes critical HR processes to support transportation and fleet operations across the network. Ensures consistent application of workforce planning, compliance, and performance management programs for drivers and transportation leaders. Reduces operational risk and improves field execution discipline through standardized practices .
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Designs and standardizes end-to-end human resources processes supporting transportation and fleet operations.
- Develops standard operating procedures, service level agreements, and documentation for field leaders.
- Partners with key stakeholders to support driver headcount planning, requisition readiness, and hiring execution.
- Ensures consistent execution of Department of Transportation/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration-related human resources processes and the application of human resources policies to mitigate risk.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for field human resources managers and supports change management for new initiatives.
- Analyzes key human resources metrics like turnover and time-to-fill to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Prepares executive-ready summaries and insights on transportation human resources data for leadership .
- Leads or supports enterprise-wide transportation human resources projects and strategic initiatives.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
