Amazon
Merritt Island, FL
Full-timeGeneral LaborPosted May 28, 2026
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, integration, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. If you seek a fast-paced, dynamic environment; if you thrive on solving difficult problems where resolutions have high impact; and if you love the challenge of building something from scratch, then this role will be an ideal next career step. To be successful you need to be highly motivated and detail oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.
Key job responsibilities
• Primarily first-shift, but shift schedule may vary on occasion to meet production/processing/launch schedules
• Successfully process Amazon Leo satellites through Propellant Loading preps, fill, and securing according to technical work instructions
• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules
• Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware
• Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required
• Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers, and calipers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
• Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe, and effective work environment
• Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25%, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand.
A day in the life
Upon arrival to the PPF, the Prop Load Technician will meet with the SAT Zone engineer(s) and technician lead(s) to understand the plan and assignments for the day.
The technician will be assigned tasks based on their skills, optimal process flow/timing, and processing/launch manifest needs. As a Level 3 (senior) technician, you will be expected to be able to independently perform work and train others on the Prop Load Team's tasks.
Valuable skills and experience for this role include a variety of aerospace operational disciplines, including mechanical assembly, propellant loading (or similar spacecraft pneumatic/propulsion operations), pneumatic and electrical control system troubleshooting/rework, and rigging/crane/forklift operations
In short, you will be responsible for some of the most critical tasks to process and integrate each Kuiper satellite for launch, ensuring high quality, workmanship, and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.

The Prop Load team's mission is to safely, consistently, and efficiently load Krypton propellant on all 3,236 satellites that will be launched to populate the Amazon Leo constellation in low-earth orbit.
The team is based at the Comet PPF in Kennedy Space Center, and travels to support propulsion operations at other PPFs as the launch manifest requires.

- Able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
- 2+ years in mechanical, propulsion, pneumatic, and/or electrical assembly, test, or operation with spacecraft or launch vehicles
- Senior technician experience in a fast-paced, high-precision aerospace processing environment
- Experience with cleanroom environments, working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) sensitive flight hardware
- Able and willing to rapidly adapt role and responsibilities to facilitate fast-paced, high-quality satellite processing
