Gain hands-on manufacturing, operations, and production leadership experience through daily business interactions, operational assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Supervisor Intern will support production operations while developing knowledge of manufacturing processes, workforce engagement, safety practices, inventory management, and operational excellence. Work is performed under direct supervision.
- Evaluates production workflows and operational processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, productivity gains, and process optimization.
- Partners with production teams and lead workers to communicate daily, weekly, and monthly production goals while learning effective workforce engagement and leadership practices.
- Assists in monitoring production performance, tracking key metrics, and providing feedback on accomplishments, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Supports manufacturing operations including inventory management, unloading, storage, movement of raw materials, and staging of finished products for shipping and delivery.
- Observes and participates in production planning activities to better understand scheduling, capacity utilization, and operational performance.
- May perform duties such as gathering, analyzing, and organizing data to support departmental projects, process improvement initiatives, and operational reports.
- Participates in team meetings, training sessions, and brainstorming activities focused on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Assists with maintaining compliance with safety standards, operational procedures, and quality expectations within the manufacturing environment.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, logistics, inventory, and quality teams to support business objectives.
- Gains exposure to production supervision, employee engagement, lean manufacturing concepts, performance management, and operational leadership practices.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
- Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
- Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Prefer junior or senior level, but will consider other class levels.

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with at least 75% of time spent on the production floor working alongside operations teams and observing manufacturing processes. Exposure to production equipment, warehouse operations, material movement activities, and manufacturing workflows is expected. May be required to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds.
